Relic of St. Jude to Visit Four Local Parishes

For centuries, Catholics and others have sought the hope, refuge and strength associated with the prayers and veneration of St. Jude Thaddeus, also known as the Apostle of Hope.

In a unique opportunity, New Yorkers are invited to come together in prayer as part of a special pilgrimage to hear of the life of this apostle, who is known as the saint of difficult causes, and to seek deeper understanding of the true meaning of Christian hope.

Join Father Mike Ford, O.P., Dominican friar and spiritual director of the Ministries of the Dominican Shrine of St. Jude in Chicago, Ill., as he accompanies the arm relic of St. Jude on a pilgrimage to four parishes in Brooklyn and Queens, Sept. 18 through Sept. 22.

Mission Series Talks

At each stop, Father Ford will present a segment of his nationally recognized mission series, “Hope, Christian Faith, and St. Jude Thaddeus, The Apostle of Hope!”

The pilgrimage will provide the faithful an opportunity to venerate the arm relic of St. Jude, the largest relic of an apostle housed outside of Rome, and receive blessings with the oil of St. Jude.

The pilgrimage schedule:

Sept. 18 – Good Shepherd, Marine Park

Sept. 19 – St. Luke, Whitestone

Sept. 21 – Our Lady of Lourdes, Queens Village

Sept. 22 – St. Joseph Co-Cathedral, Prospect Heights

At each location, Father Ford will celebrate a 7 p.m. Mass and preach on Christian hope, theological virtues and devotions.
