Pre-Cana/Marriage Preparation Programs for Catholic, Interfaith Couples

Marriage is a sacrament in the Catholic Church, and effective preparation is essential to help couples develop a better understanding of the sacrament, deepen their readiness to live married life and gain insights into themselves as individuals and as a couple.

The Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens provides marriage preparation classes – also known as pre-Cana – in English, Spanish, Creole, Polish and Italian. There are specialized sessions for interfaith couples, couples who are re-marrying and couples convalidating civil unions, as well as the option of a weekend preparation program.
