A pro-life Rosary Rally was held outside Kings Plaza Shopping Center in Mill Basin on Sunday evening, July 9. Bagpiper John McManus’ music attracted attention to the small cohort holding pro-life signage outside the mall’s front doors on Flatbush Ave. just after 7 p.m. The group, consisting of nearly a dozen Catholics from various parishes, including St. Finbar, Bath Beach; St. Rose of Lima, Rockaway Beach; and St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Ozone Park, then processed behind an American flag to the Ave. U entrance, where they prayed the Rosary as cars and passersby slowed to take notice. The rally was organized by pro-life advocate Philip McManus of Queens, who wants to encourage Catholics to stand up for the culture of life, and network with other pro-life, pro-family groups. He hopes to organize more rallies, particularly in anticipation of the International Gift of Life Walk, set for March 25, 2018. Philip McManus may be reached via email at PhilAMcManus@gmail.com.
