Father Philip Pizzo, pastor of St. Benedict Joseph Labre parish, Richmond Hill, blesses a statue of the saint during Mass on the Third Sunday of Easter, April 19. The annual blessing observed the saint’s feast day, April 16, as well as the 123rd anniversary of the founding of the parish. The Queens parish is the only church in the country named after St. Benedict Joseph Labre. The church building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.
