Dear Editor: I would like to second and expand the comments of Tony Bellizzi’s letter (Nov. 1).

Mr. Bellizzi calls for an outreach to “divorced and gay people” who have suffered “heartache and rejection.”

I would like to see such an outreach to the priests (many of whom were greatly loved and appreciated) who have “disappeared” as a result of the clerical sex scandal. Let us have our bishops say to them “we love you, we need you and our family is diminished without you.”

In fact, let us also include drug dealers, rapists, murderers and terrorists in that “outreach.”
