FRESH MEADOWS — Kristi Giacalone was facing hard times because of COVID-19 and struggling to come up with the money to pay tuition for her two daughters at St. Francis Preparatory High School.

She was facing the possibility of having to pull them out of the school and transferring them to a public school.

On top of that, her husband, Giacomo — who owns a barbershop — was stricken with COVID-19 earlier this year and he still has not been able to return to work…
