Only In Print: Cloistered Nuns Offer Holy Face Relic for Veneration, Before Move

CYPRESS HILLS — Catholic tradition holds that God incarnate, Jesus Christ, left an image of his face on the veil of a woman who used it to wipe blood and sweat from his face.

Anyone can see a copy of this image at the Monastery of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Joseph on Highland Boulevard in Brooklyn. The piece of cloth is certified by the Vatican as a second-class relic, having been touched to St. Veronica’s Veil …
