Obituary — Sister Mary Anne Ricioppo, C.S.J.

Sister Mary Anne Ricioppo, C.S.J., a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Brentwood, for 55 years, died in Transfiguration Convent, Williamsburg, Nov. 11.
She entered the congregation on Sept. 12, 1958 from Our Lady of Good Counsel parish, Inwood, L.I. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Brentwood College.
Formerly Sister Mary Marcellus, she taught elementary grades at St. Agnes, Cobble Hill, 1961-63; St. Ambrose, Bedford-Stuyvesant, 1963-65; Transfiguration, Williamsburg, 1965-69, 1971-74, 1988-2012; St. Vincent de Paul, Elmont, 1969-71; Our Saviour, the Bronx, 1974-88.
In her 47 years in Transfiguration parish as teacher, mentor and friend, she was part of the fabric of the neighborhood, ministering to countless immigrant families.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place in Transfiguration Church, Williamsburg. Interment followed in Calvary Cemetery, Brentwood.
