Sister Celine Kelly, R.S.M., a Sister of Mercy for 73 years, died Jan. 10. She was 90.
She attended Holy Family/St. Thomas and Mercy Juniorate H.S. She entered the community in 1940 from St. Thomas Aquinas parish, Flatlands.
She taught at St. Brigid, Bushwick, 1943-56; St. Jerome, Flatbush, 1946-57; Bishop McDonnell H.S., Crown Heights, 1960-66.
She served in the Rockville Centre Diocese at Our Lady of Peace, Lynbrook, L.I., 1957-60, and Holy Trinity H.S., Hicksville, L.I., 1966-97.
In 2006, she retired to Holy Trinity Convent and later moved to Maria Regina Residence, Brentwood, L.I.
Sister Celine is survived by her brother Robert.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by her nephew, Father Neil Kelly, at the Sisters of Mercy Convent, Whitestone.
Burial followed in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, L.I.
