Sister Mary Rosarine Quinn, C.S.J., a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Brentwood, L.I., for 50 years, died Dec. 23, 2012.
She entered the congregation from St. Thomas Aquinas parish, Flatlands, in 1963.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from St. John’s University, Jamaica, and Brentwood College; a master’s degree in secondary education/social studies from Queens College, Flushing, and a second master’s in counseling from Fordham University. She was certified in administration/supervision and pastoral care.
Her ministries included St. Clare, Rosedale, 1968-69; St. Vincent de Paul, Elmont, L.I., 1969-72; Our Lady of Lourdes, West Islip, L.I., 1972-77; Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Sunset Park; 1983-89; and St. John the Baptist, Bedford-Stuyvesant, 1993-96.
She served as principal of St. Charles Borromeo, Brooklyn Heights, 1977-1983; financial aid administrator at St. Francis College, Brooklyn Heights, 1989-93; and chaplain of New York Hospital Queens, Flushing, 1998-2012.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Family Church, Flushing. Interment followed at Calvary Cemetery, Brentwood.
