Joseph Patrick Murphy, a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, died June 19. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 24 at Good Shepherd Church, Marine Park.

A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps., he was a retired member of the New York City Fire Dept., where he served in Ladder Co. 156.

He was chairman of FDNY Pipes and Drums, president of the FDNY Holy Name Society, and Pipe Major of the Leathernecks Marine Corps. Pipe and Drum Band.

He belonged to Knights of Columbus Council No. 126; Club Member of the Marine Corps. League; and a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 35.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia (nee Stackpole); children, Reagan and Erin; brother Charlie, and sisters, Edie and Susie.
