Carol Elizabeth Brostek of Flushing died Nov. 9.

A lifelong resident of Queens, she was a graduate of Queens College, Bishop McDonnell H.S., Crown Heights, and St. Mary’s Nativity School, Flushing. She served on reunion committees of her college and high school alumni organizations, and she was also a devoted and and active member of St. Andrew Avellino parish, Flushing. For many years, she wrote a monthly feature in the parish publication.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph; their children Jeanne Altenau of Eastchester, N.Y., the late Brian, Carol Benedetto of North Massapequa, L.I., Gerard of Merrick, L.I., and Annemarie; and her brother, George Heiser.

She was predeceased by her sister, Sister Patricia Heiser, C.S.J.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 14 at St. Andrew Avellino Church. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Flushing.
