Carl Joseph Minieri, 90, who lived in Brooklyn until five years ago, died June 27 in Las Vegas, where he had been residing.
A World War II Navy veteran, his home parish for 65 years was St. Catharine of Alexandria in Borough Park, where a Mass of Christian burial was celebrated July 9 by Msgr. Paul Kodjo.
He was a subscriber to The Tablet because “it made him feel he was part of his Brooklyn family and still at home,” said his daughter-in-law, Dorothy.
He is survived by his four children and predeceased by his wife, the late Anne, who died in 2010. Burial was in Ocean View Cemetery, Staten Island.
