Brother Ralph Joseph Edmiston, C.S.C., a member of the Congregation of Holy Cross, Moreau Province, for 49 years, died Aug. 4 in Valatie, N.Y. He was 77.

He served at several schools run by the Holy Cross Brothers: St. John the Baptist School in Hillsdale, N.J., St. Edmond’s Academy in Wilmington, Del.; Bishop McNamara H.S., Forestville, Md., and at Holy Cross H.S., Flushing. At Holy Cross, he was well known for his involvement in the highly successful annual Walk-a-Thons.

He retired in 2013 to the Brothers’ St. Joseph Center, Valatie.
