Obituary: Angie Croce

Angelina (Angie) Croce, 82, died in Assisi House, the retirement residence of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia, on Dec. 31, 2012.
Born in Canarsie, her parents died when she was young, and her sister, Sister Fidelis Croce, a Franciscan Sister of Ringwood, N.J. (later merged with the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia), became her legal guardian. Angie lived with her sister in the various convents in the dioceses of Paterson and Brooklyn where Sister Fidelis ministered.
In later years, both Angie and her sister lived at the Ringwood motherhouse. When Sister Fidelis died, Angie continued living with the sisters at St. Joseph Residence.
In 2010, she moved to Assisi House, Aston, Pa. During her years in Ringwood, she worked at the Franciscan Spiritual Center by assisting with the laundry and setting the table.
Burial was in God’s Acre, Ringwood. She is survived by her sister, Ann Sabol; her brother, John Croce; and by her Franciscan family.
