Sister Carole Therese Fitzpatrick, C.S.J., a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Brentwood for 64 years died June 28 while residing in Maria Regina Residence, the sisters’ nursing home.

Formerly known as Sister Joseph Augusta, she entered the congregation in 1955 from St. Ephrem parish, Dyker Heights.

Her local ministries included: Nativity of Our Blessed Lord, Clinton Hill, 1958-1959; Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Sunset Park, 1959-1962; St. Mel, Flushing, 1963-1970; principal of St. Michael, Sunset Park, 1970-1976; parish outreach, St. Michael, 1976-1983; director of Cypress Hills Senior Citizens Center, 1983-1985; pastoral minister of St. Elizabeth, Ozone Park, 1985-1993; Hospice Service Visiting Nurse Services of New York, Flushing, 1993-2002; and Christ the King Church, Springfield Gardens, 2004-2016. She retired in 2016.

Her wake and funeral Mass were held July 2-3 in Maria Regina Chapel in Brentwood.
