Brother Conrad Federspiel, C.P., a Passionist Brother for 62 years, died Oct. 6, at Immaculate Conception Monastery, Jamaica. He was 89.
A native of Port Washington, Wisc., he served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II from 1942 to 1946.
A noted mechanical engineer, he managed various Passionist monasteries in the U.S. and Canada.
From 1980 to 1995, he worked with his friend Father Tom Berry, the cultural historian and ecotheologian, at the Riverdale Center of Religious Research in Riverdale, N.Y.
He moved to the Passionist Monastery of the Immaculate Conception in 2010.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the Passionist Monastery in Jamaica. Burial was at the Passionist Cemetery, Jamaica.
He is survived by two brothers, Carl Federspiel and George Federspiel of Port Washington, Wisc., and one sister Rita Federspiel of Cedarburg, Wisc.
