Celebrating 60 Years of Educational Excellence
Msgr. McClancy Memorial High School is beginning its 60th year of service in East Elmhurst. A Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory school, it is part of an association of 11 schools in the U.S., England and the Philippines conducted in the educational tradition of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. This provides a quality education for young men and women from diverse academic, social, cultural and religious backgrounds, interweaving Gospel values and Catholic teaching with the core curriculum.
The school incorporates a dynamic Campus Ministry Program with a strong service component. Opportunities are available for college credit, Advanced Placement and honors courses in all subjects.
Students are offered a disciplined and nurturing environment for personal and professional development by promoting responsibility, respecting individual potential and encouraging growth in scholarship, leadership and outreach. Each student is known, valued, treasured and taught by faculty in partnership with the family to meet the challenges of a changing world. Full-time guidance counselors are available for academic support, college preparation and personal assistance.
McClancy offers courses in theology and religious values as well as liturgical and community-centered spiritual experiences that mark the major feasts of the Catholic Church.
Acceptance is based on the results of the Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools (TACHS) and the student’s academic record. Those who qualify may receive an academic scholarship. The school offers extensive opportunities for computerized programs of study as well as fine arts. The Gradebook System enables parents, faculty and students to interact electronically for assignments and to post progress. McClancy also makes use of a Bring Your Own Device Program.
Co-curricular activities offer opportunities for social, cultural and creative experiences. The athletic program is highly competitive, proven by its numerous city championship titles.
McClancy is permanently chartered by the State of New York and fully accredited by the Middle States Association. Each year 99 percent of graduates go on to higher education.
