Watch Mother Teresa’s Canonization on NET TV

NET-TV plans a number of programs this weekend to commemorate the canonization of Mother Teresa of Calcutta.

Mother Teresa will be raised to the status of sainthood in the Church by Pope Francis at the Vatican on Sunday, Sept. 4. The ceremony can be seen on NET on Sunday, at 3 p.m.

On Monday, Sept. 5, at 2:30 p.m., NET will broadcast a Mass of thanksgiving for the canonization of Mother Teresa from St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican. The main celebrant will be Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Vatican Secretary of State.

A documentary film, “Mother Teresa, the Legacy,” will be shown on Sunday, at 6 p.m.

A special animated children’s movie, “Mother Teresa, Seeing the Face of Jesus,” will be broadcast on Saturday, Sept. 3, at 10 a.m., and on Sunday, Sept. 4, at 8 a.m.

The diocesan celebration of Mother Teresa’s canonization will be held at Our Lady of Victory Church in Bedford-Stuyvesant, where the Order she founded, the Missionaries of Charity, reside. Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio will be the main celebrant of a Mass there on Sunday, Sept. 4, at 10:15 a.m. Auxiliary Bishop Raymond Chappetto will be among the concelebrants. Members of the Missionaries of Charity will attend.

The Missionaries of Charity opened their convent there in 1992. They also maintain a cloistered convent for contemplative member of the Order at Our Lady of Lourdes parish in Bushwick.
