Dear Editor: I saw two responses to the obituary for Sister Mary Estelle Conaty, R.S.M., (Obituaries, Nov. 21) and would like to add another.

Sister Estelle ministered at Catherine McAuley High School in Brooklyn for 34 years. She was the epitome of the phrase “young at heart.”

As evidenced by the over 300 remembrances on the McAuley Facebook page, she had a positive impact on thousands of young women whom she met in the classroom and through after-school activities. To quote a few of the graduates, “She wanted nothing but the best for us… We could talk to her about anything… and McAuley would not have been McAuley without her.”

In addition to her students, she encouraged and mentored many young teachers. I was fortunate to be one of them. May she rest in peace.
