As part of breast cancer awareness month, St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr parish, Ozone Park, hosted its annual Battle Against Breast Cancer preseason Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) basketball tournament throughout October. This year, 12 CYO girls’ teams and 33 CYO boys’ teams participated. All funds raised benefitted Living Beyond Breast Cancer and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Boys’ winners included St. Mary Gate of Heaven, Ozone Park, (junior); St. Stan’s, Ozone Park (10th grade); St. Stan’s, Ozone Park (ninth grade); Immaculate Heart of Mary, Windsor Terrace (eighth grade); St. Mark’s, Sheepshead Bay (seventh grade); St. Stan’s, Maspeth (sixth grade); St. Margaret’s, Middle Village (fifth grade); and St. Kevin’s, Flushing (fourth grade).

Girls’ winners included St. Francis de Sales, Belle Harbor (eighth grade); Our Lady of Lourdes, Queens Village (seventh grade); and St. Stan’s, Maspeth (fourth grade).
