Boomers and Beyond - Summer 2016

Lifelong Learning at B’klyn College

Adults who join Brooklyn Lifelong Learning (BLL), located at Brooklyn College get to enjoy classes with no tests, homework or grades. Dedicated volunteer instructors teach on a wide range of topics.

Lately BLL has added the newest trend in learning: Massively Open Online Courseware. Video courses from throughout academia are shown to classes, followed by a live discussion among the attendees.

BLL participants have been able to experience the best, such as a music course from Yale, and a film course from MIT.

This summer, students enjoyed a Harvard course, The Hebrew Scriptures in Judaism and Christianity. Four lectures were viewed by the class. The discussions that followed were lively, but respectful among the participants, who came from a variety of religious traditions. The course will continue this fall.

One thing they could all agree on: They want more of what they find at Brooklyn Lifelong Learning.Layout 1
