The LaGuardia C.C., Long Island City, women’s basketball team once again lent an “assist” on Thanksgiving morning.

In fitting with the theme of treating others with respect, the team gathered early to prepare food to serve to homeless people of New York City at The Catholic Worker St. Joseph House.

Over 20 people from the program, including the team’s head coach and a parishioner at American Martyrs Church, Bayside, Anthony Alfaro, took part in the positive experience.

The teamwork on display serving meals will undoubtedly translate onto the court when the Red Hawks get into the bulk of their season.
