God Loves Us
Dear Editor: We humans are God’s greatest creation. We are all connected to him through the immortal souls that He placed in our mortal bodies.
He loves us all and wants us to love him above all things. He also commanded us to love each other as equal members of his family.
God’s love is given unconditionally without regard for the merits of the recipient of that love.
Do not confuse true love with lust, gratitude, or admiration.
We were all created as God’s children. He loves both saints and sinners equally, but does not love any sins we may commit.
He will listen to all prayers and judge them equally.
However, God knows the future and may not grant petitions that would have an adverse effect on themselves or others.

More Thoughts on Charlie Kirk
Dear Editor: Thank you, Kate Scanlon for your thoughtful and informative article about Charlie Kirk.
I was beginning to feel upset that The Tablet would just describe Kirk as a “conservative activist.”
He was more of a Christian than many weekly churchgoers, including myself, and his wife was the same as Charlie.
How many people do you know who would say “I forgive you” to a person who took the life of their spouse?
It is, as Cardinal Timothy Dolan said, “He’s one, I think, who knew what Jesus meant when he said, ‘The truth will set you free.’ ”

Appreciation and Gratitude for The Tablet
Dear Editor: I must express my deep gratitude to The Tablet (“St. Joan of Arc’s New Pastor Raises $208,000 for School Scholarships,” Oct. 7) for its recent coverage of my installation as pastor of St. Joan of Arc Parish in Jackson Heights, Queens.
The true story, however, was not the ceremony itself, but the incredible energy and generosity sparked by the “Installation Challenge” and the Father Valdazo Scholarship Fund, which together raised more than $200,000 in support of Catholic education right here in Jackson Heights!
Our Catholic schools and academies must rely on the support of the faithful if they are to thrive into the next century. In years past, these schools were sustained by the dedication of religious sisters and brothers whose service kept tuition affordable, or even free.
Today, that mission falls to us. Through our generosity, we make it possible for families to choose a faith-based education for their children.
A Catholic education changes lives … wouldn’t you want to be part of that change for a young person?

Thank You, George Weigel
Dear Editor: I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to George Weigel for his excellent article: ‘Let’s Make America Serious Again’.
Bravo.
We have major problems and issues in this country that need to be addressed and resolved.
The big uproar should not be about Cracker Barrel’s logo.
The rest of the world must be wondering, to quote Weigel, “Where are the adults in the room?”
We continue to pray for the United States.
