The Bishop Kearney H.S., Bensonhurst, varsity basketball team defeated host team Dwight Morrow, 52-42, in the “Dwight Morrow New Jersey vs, New York High School Showcase.”

Senior Chrissy Heyer, who scored 14 pts., was named M.V.P. of the tournament.

Senior Emily Hiltunen, who led the team with 20 pts., earned the Student-Athlete Academic Award for event.

Senior Nicolette Conti scored eight pts., including two big free throws down the stretch to seal the victory for Kearney.

Head coach Rocco Sellitto said the team played a “great game against a tough, physical team.”
