The Great Irish Fair honors a man who is recognized for the leadership that he provides in all of his endeavors and for the compassion and care that are part of his daily life in service to others.

Businessman James C. Halpin is receiving the Irish Man of the Year Award.

The president of Platinum Maintenance Services Corporation, a building restoration and maintenance service firm, Halpin is responsible for overseeing all facets of the business. Under his stewardship, the company has grown to become a leading service provider in the New York metropolitan area. He has been with the company since its inception in 1997.

He previously served as regional manager for American Building Maintenance, where he managed the bid process for some of the largest buildings in the northeast region.

A graduate of St. Joseph’s College, Philadelphia, Pa., he earned his degree in business management and finance.

Actively involved with a number of charities, he is committed to community service and has received many industry and charitable awards.

He is a past recipient of the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Champion of Spirit Award. Earlier this year, he was recognized by Mercy Home for Children as a Friend of Mercy.
