Irene A. Breen, 85, the sister of the late Bishop Vincent Breen and Msgr. Edward Breen, died Nov. 14.

Born in Brooklyn, she was a proud graduate of St. Joseph’s College, and an educator for the hearing impaired.

A lifelong member of Our Lady Help of Christians parish, Midwood, she served as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion and secretary of the parish council.

Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio conducted the final prayer at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians, Nov. 17. Father Joseph Hugo, pastoral associate, was the main celebrant. Father Anthony Rucando was the homilist. Also on the altar were Msgr. Michael Hardiman and Father Joseph Cunningham.

Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Flatbush.
