Intimidation in Schools

Dear Editor: In the Sept. 13, 2018 edition of the NY Daily News, author Christopher Mari stated that there is a man who stands outside his children’s Catholic Elementary School at dismissal attempting to have the parents remove their children from the school due to abuse by priests. This man indicates that he was a victim of abuse by a priest. The column does not indicate which school is affected but I must assume that it is in Queens since that is where the author resides.

I believe that the Tablet should investigate or readers of the Tablet should indicate the affected school since I am sure that some know. According to the column, this protest cannot be stopped, I assume, due to free speech issues.

However, most people would agree that exposing young children to this atmosphere is unacceptable and something must be done. It is time for us Catholics to fight back and defend the faith when warranted.
