Letters to the Editor

Inspired by Father Rick

Dear Editor: I feel compelled to stop and acknowledge a great priest, Father Rick Beuther, the pastor at St. Bartholomew parish in Elmhurst. His Masses are captivating and his homilies are both electrifying and inspirational. Each week, I walk away with the sensation that I’ve met Christ in his sermons.

On the feast of the Epiphany, the manifestation of Christ as the Son of God, he delivered a particularly moving homily that mesmerized the congregation. He brilliantly connected the visit of the Magi to the infant Christ as it could relate to our everyday life.

The most telling portion of his sermon was when he reminded us that the Three Kings followed the bright star and met Jesus. The visit was so profound and life-altering that the Magi were forced to choose a different path home.

On that Sunday, Father Rick invited us to follow the star of Bethlehem, meet Jesus, change our life and elect a different path home as well.

I highly recommend a Sunday Mass with Father Rick. I’m fortunate to have such a pious man doing good work so close to home.
