Fontbonne Hall Academy, Bay Ridge, is a college preparatory Catholic secondary school for young women who seek a superior educational program and strive to be tomorrow’s professional leaders. 1:1 Google Chromebook Program
The school partnered with Google last year as their exclusive “all-girl education” school to test their new Google Apps for Education application known as Classroom. The program is in now in effect and all incoming freshmen receive their own Chromebooks.
In-classroom Technology
Fontbonne’s approach to using technology in the classroom allows teachers to use Chromebooks as a tool for direct instruction as students share and create ideas using a learning management system along with other collaborative applications.
Girls Who Code
The school now has a new after-school club that educates, inspires and helps students gain the skills and resources to one day pursue opportunities in computing fields.
Fontbonne Cyber Girls
Fontbonne became the only all-girls high school team entering the Cyber Security Awareness Week Competition that is sponsored by NYU-Polytechnic School of Engineering this fall.
Science Research Program
A three-year sequence of classes allows students to choose an area of research and conduct an investigation under the supervision of a college or university scientist.
Increased AP Course Offerings
Advanced placement classes will now be offered to ninth graders, starting with AP World History.
