Dear Editor: Most historians would agree that the most horrific event of World War II was the Holocaust.
Almost 17 million Jews, gypsies, gays, Protestants, Catholics (Maximilian Kolbe and Mother Benedicta – Edith Stein), mentally and physically disabled, were murdered in the gas chambers, by firing squads, starvation and lethal injections.
Since the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision in 1973, over 50 million babies have been slaughtered in our country because of abortion.
Some Catholic politicians say, “I’m personally against abortion, but it is the law of the land.”It is the law, a very bad law that should be overturned. Catholics in Congress should continuously work together to overturn Roe v. Wade. It may take a long time but each life is worth it.
Let these men and women show “a profile in courage” by putting their ambitions aside and helping to remove this scourge and protecting the unborn. It would be better to lose an election than your soul.
