Seventh- and eighth-grade students from Catholic elementary schools were welcomed to The Mary Louis Academy (TMLA) in Jamaica Estates for the fourth annual History Fair. The theme of this year’s event was “Those Who Have Made the World a Better Place.” Featured were: Pope Francis, the Sisters martyred in El Salvador, Martin Luther King Jr., Aung San Suu Kyi, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Mary McLeod Bethune and Mary Robinson among others. Along with students from all levels at TMLA, the seventh- and eighth-grade girls presented projects, skits, speeches and reflections at the after-school event. Awards were distributed to the elementary school students for the various projects they submitted.
