Dear Editor: Many parishioners of Our Lady of Angels, Bay Ridge, participated in a Lenten retreat. To celebrate the Year of Mercy, our pastor, Msgr. Kevin B. Noone, invited Father Kevin Cronin, O.F.M., to help us be more in touch with “loving God gladly” as we make our spiritual journeys towards Jesus this Lenten season.
Father Cronin motivated us through his engaging/bonding style of humor, and his profound insight into the strengths and frailties of our human nature. Throughout our time together, he helped us to be more aware of the choices we make in loving ourselves and others more fully, as well as forgiving and healing ourselves and others. The end result of both these actions bring us closer to inner peace, and experiencing God’s mercy.
Msgr. Noone assured all of us during his introduction to Father Cronin and this Lenten retreat that, “we would not be disappointed!” He was absolutely correct!
Thank you, Msgr. Noone, for bringing Father Cronin to all of us. I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Father Cronin for all the ways he blessed our hearts and souls this Lenten season.
