Going Red in the Rockaways

St. Rose of Lima Academy Raises Awareness about Women’s Heart Health

Students, faculty and staff at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Academy, Rockaway Beach, recently held a red dress down day to support National Wear Red Day. The goal is to bring attention to the problem of heart disease in women. Each student paid $1 to wear red and was given a heart healthy sticker. Faculty and staff members each paid $5 to dress down and received a bracelet from the American Heart Association. All donations were sent to the American Heart Association. This is the sixth year that the school has participated in this observance. (Photo courtesy St. Rose of Lima Catholic Academy)
