In the Thanksgiving spirit, the Catholic Foundation’s Generations of Faith team would like to thank participants for their dedication of time, energy and enthusiasm to the campaign. The participation, faith and stewardship have strengthened our diocese, our Church and the impact of parish efforts continues to resonate throughout Brooklyn and Queens.
Currently, 59 parishes have exceeded 125 percent of their goal, more than 17,600 pledges have been made to the campaign as of this issue. The average pledge is over $4,000, and more than 1,300 volunteers have joined the initiative.
Here are some inspiring moments from Generations of Faith that we have created together thus far:
- Volunteers at Queen of Angels, Sunnyside, wore “Ask me about Generations of Faith” signs and promoted their campaign with balloons, flyers and poster-sized case statements after each Mass.
- The Campaign Executive Committee at St. Margaret, Middle Village, celebrated exceeding the $1 million mark on their $740,000 goal with a congratulatory dinner.
- Nativity of the B.V.M.-St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr parish, Ozone Park, hosted all parishioners who made a pledge to the Generations of Faith campaign for a special “Thank You” luncheon.
- Auxiliary Bishop Raymond Chappetto, pastor at St. Kevin, Flushing, and his campaign volunteers enjoyed the celebration dinner at Russo’s on the Bay after achieving great success as a pilot parish.
- More than 550 pastors and volunteers from Pilot and Block 1 parishes attended the Thank You Celebration at Russo’s on the Bay in November.
