Congratulations to the varsity basketball teams from Christ the King R.H.S., Middle Village, and St. Edmund Prep H.S., Sheepshead Bay, for capturing their respective GCHSAA diocesan championships on March 1.

The Lady Royals received a great effort from junior guard Kaela Kinder, who recorded a double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds in the victory over rival Archbishop Molloy H.S., Briarwood.

The Lady Eagles were paced by senior forward Alexandra Jacques, who poured in a game-high 29 points against the two-time defending diocesan champion Bishop Kearney H.S., Bensonhurst.
