Francis Boccabella, III, a member of the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Perpetual Help/Msgr. Flynn Council No. 17153, and a Youth Minister at Our Lady of the Presentation – Our Lady of Mercy Church in Brownsville, died on April 2. He was 39.
A native of South Ozone Park, he attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Elementary School, and later Archbishop Molloy High School. He received his degree in Geology from Hofstra University.
After college, he worked for the Department of Homeland Security’s TSA at JFK Airport, and later at Newark Liberty International Airport as an Explosive Detective Canine Handler.
Boccabella is survived by his wife of nine years, Julie (nee Volonnino), his father, Francis, three sisters and a brother.
He us greatly missed. He was a wonderful person who had and came from a truly wonderful family. He is always in my prayers. God bless you. Rest in peace, Frank.
