The annual Memorial Mass for the fallen firefighters of Battalion 57, Booklyn, was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral, Prospect Heights, Sept. 11.
Battalion 57, that includes Engine Co. 217, 219, 226, 230, and 235 and Ladder Co. 105, lost 24 firefighters on Sept. 11, 2001, in the attack on the World Trade Center. To commemorate the 9/11 anniversary, the firefighters visited Ground Zero in the morning, marched from Manhattan across the Brooklyn Bridge, and then attended the Memorial Mass.
The lector was Firefighter Dan Natallichio and the Prayer off the faithful was led by Firefighter Craig Caffrey.
