St. Adalbert Church, Elmhurst, will celebrate its reception of a relic of St. John Paul II with public exposition and veneration next weekend.
The first-class relic consists of strands of the late pontiff’s hair and was designated for the parish by Archbishop Mieczyslaw Mokrzycki, who was St. John Paul’s personal secretary.
The relic will be available for veneration after the 5 p.m. English and 7 p.m. Polish Masses on Saturday, Oct. 18, and after the 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. English Masses and 10 a.m. Polish Mass on Sunday, Oct. 19. For details, call 718-639-0212.
