Diocesan Math Bee: Elementary and Junior High School Winners Are Crowned

After winning first place at the diocesan Primary Math Bee, third grader Allie Giordano from St. Ephrem’s parish, Dyker Heights, gathered with her math coach, Madeline Scotto, and her family in joy.

The math bee finals were held April 16 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, Sunset Park.

The diocesan Primary Math Bee winners were:

First Place: Allie Giordano, Grade 3, St. Ephrem School

Second Place: Mark De Dona, Grade 3, Our Lady of Hope School, Middle Village

Third Place: Lauren Borgia, Grade 3, Holy Angels Catholic Academy, Bay Ridge

The diocesan Intermediate Math Bee winners were:

First Place: Kaiqi Liang, Grade 6, Our Lady of the Angelus School, Rego Park

Second Place: Isaac Rivera, Grade 6, SS. Joachim and Anne School, Queens Village

Third Place: Ting Yan Li, Grade 4, St. Joan of Arc School, Jackson Heights

The diocesan Junior High Math Bee winners were:

First Place: Brian Lai, Grade 8, St. Adalbert School, Elmhurst

Second Place: Marc Julien Calza, Grade 8, St. Ephrem School, Dyker Heights

Third Place: Andrew Johnson, Grade 8, Incarnation School, Queens Village
