Our Lady of Victory Church in Bedford-Stuyvesant will be the host of the diocesan celebration for the canonization of Mother Teresa on Sunday, Sept. 4 at the 10:15 a.m. Mass. Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio will be the main celebrant. Auxiliary Bishop Raymond Chappetto will be among the concelebrants. A new statue of St. Teresa of Calcutta will be blessed and enshrined at the church.

Mother Teresa visited Our Lady of Victory Church in June of 1995 to bring the first group of sisters to the diocese, and these religious women continue to be a great presence to the parish community. They, along with the contemplative sisters of Missionaries of Charity who reside at Our Lady of Lourdes Convent in Bushwick, will be in attendance for the diocesan celebration. All are welcome.
