Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio will be the ordaining prelate when four men are ordained transitional deacons at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Dunwoodie, on Saturday, Nov. 4.

To be ordained for the Brooklyn Diocese are Jose Diaz and Joseph Dutan. New deacons for the Archdiocese of New York will be Michael Connolly and Osvaldo Hernandez.

Transitional deacons are men who will eventually be ordained priests, as opposed to permanent deacons who minister in parishes. These men who will become deacons are scheduled to be ordained to the priesthood in their respective Sees in the spring.

Another member of the class, Patrick Dorelus, was recently ordained a deacon in Rome.
