Auxiliary Bishop Octavio Cisneros will ordain Francisco Javier Hernandez to the permanent diaconate on Saturday, June 21, at 11:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Astoria.
Mr. Hernandez, 56, was born in Puebla, Mexico. He has been married to Juana Mitre Concepcion for 26 years, and they have two daughters: Reyna, 27, and Rosalia, 25.
An industrial mechanic, he is active in his parish as a baptismal instructor, and he gives Bible courses.
