Deacon Ciorciari

Deacon David J. Ciorciari, 61, died Jan. 23 at his home in Maspeth. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Jan. 29 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Maspeth.

A retired NYPD detective, he was ordained May 19, 2007. He was very involved in the religious education program in the parish.

Bishop Raymond Chappetto was the main celebrant of the funeral Mass. Msgr. Joseph Calise preached the homily.

“He was very devoted to his family,” said Msgr. Calise. “It was family first. His love for his family was clear in the way he carried out his ministry. He was one of those men who was able to blend family and ministry.”

He is survived by his wife, Eileen Beathie Ciorciari; their daughters, Nicole and Ann Marie, and granddaughter Cadence.

Burial was in St. John’s Cemetery, Middle Village.
