Deacon Abdon Mejia, a retired deacon of the Archdiocese of Lima, Peru, who served at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica, Sunset Park, died Oct. 17 at Maimonides Medical Center, Borough Park. He was 91.

He was ordained as a deacon in Peru on May 15, 1978. He is survived by his son, Victor of Union City, N.J. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, N.J.
