To ring in the new sports season, Queens Deanery No. 5 celebrated a Catholic Youth Organization Mass on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Holy Family, Flushing.

Young athletes wore their team uniforms and prayed alongside their parents, coaches, aides and volunteers for a successful and safe sports season.

Queens Deanery No. 5 includes Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, Bayside; St. Gregory the Great, Bellerose; St. Kevin, Flushing; St. Anastasia, Douglaston; St. Josaphat, Bayside; Holy Family; American Martyrs, Bayside; Sacred Heart, Bayside; St. Robert Bellarmine, Bayside; and Our Lady of the Snows, North Floral Park.
