Pope Francis, speaking in St. Peter’s Square, described the stealing and leaking of confidential documents at the Vatican as a “deplorable act that does not help” and a “crime.” The pope called the events of the past few weeks a “sad event” that does not help any reform effort that he and men like Cardinal George Pell have been very hard at work to deal with.
Paul Vallely, in the British newspaper, “The Guardian,” entitled: “The Truth of the Vatileaks Scandal is that there is no Scandal,” sums up the situation very well. The Holy Father and his top advisors, all of whom who have been brought in after the first “Vatileaks” in 2012, know very well what’s going on and the reform that they need to do.
Trust that the Holy Spirit is guiding Francis and his advisors on this issue. And be confident that it will be resolved for the betterment of the Church, the People of God, and for the glory of God.
