Catholic Schools Week 2018

Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Academy

Over 165 Years of Innovation in Catholic Education

Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Academy is enriched by and reflects the cultural diversity of the surrounding parishes of Mary’s Nativity-St. Ann’s, St. John Vianney and St. Michael. This new year begins the school’s 166th year of providing quality Catholic education to the families of Flushing and the surrounding community.

The total program of Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Academy, preschool through grade eight, is designed to promote each student’s intellectual and spiritual growth, grounded in a deepening relationship with Jesus Christ. Honoring each child’s individual needs, the academy motivates students to achieve their potential in an atmosphere conducive to academic excellence, holistic growth and social responsibility.

Intellectual growth is stimulated with academic programs. The academy is an original member of the Two-Way Immersion Network of Catholic Schools (TWIN-CS) sponsored by the Roche Center for Catholic Education at Boston College, Mass., providing bilingual education in English and Mandarin in kindergarten through fourth grade.

New York State Common Core standards are supported by St. John’s University Project TIE (Training Innovative Educators) and Curriculum Leaders Training (CLT) programs, which prepare faculty to pursue higher academic standards integrated with Catholic identity as part of the daily curriculum. Qualifying students receive support through Title I in ESL, math, reading and counseling. A learning lab, resource room and speech therapy are also available on site as well as instruction in the areas of music including violin and Tae Kwon Do.

Enrichment in math and science is offered with STEM classes including a Gifted and Talented program for students who perform above their grade level. A fully equipped science lab and a new state-of-the-art media center enhance the learning experience for all.

The academy is open year-round with a six-week summer program and Pre-K for All with full-day classes, early drop-off and late dismissal for eligible students.
