Community Daycare/Preschool

In 1992, the board of trustees of Christ the King High School recognized a need in its immediate and adjacent communities for a high-quality child care serving children from the ages of six weeks through pre-kindergarten age.

Christ the King Community Daycare/Preschool is a unique facility responding to the community need for professional child care, stressing academic and social growth. Parents feel secure in the knowledge that their children are safe in a warm and loving environment.

Recognizing that the early years of a child’s life encompasses the most rapid intellectual and physical development. Christ the King Community Daycare/ Preschool reflects a learning environment in which teachers and assistants challenge the child’s cognitive, physical and social emotional growth with an age-appropriate curriculum, uniquely designed for each age group.

Each class also makes use of interactive rooms like the music room, computer room and art room, enhancing students’ learning experience by making it balanced and modern.

A variety of programs and flexible schedules are in place to suit families’ needs. Classes are offered year-round from age six weeks to 5 years. Daycare is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Christ the King Community Daycare/ Preschool also offers pre-kindergarten. This program is for children 4 to 5 years old. Children must reside within the five boroughs of New York City. Pre-kindergarten is a part of the NYC Pre-K for All program, therefore it is offered to all families free of charge.

Extended-care hours for pre-kindergarten students are available during the daycare’s hours of operation.
