Dear Editor: I wrote a letter which you published (May 7) about opioid addiction. While I appreciate your publishing this, it did contain a major misprint.

The published letter stated, “I know this firsthand from an overdose at the age of 23.”

My original letter reads: “I know this firsthand, as my brother died from an overdose of these drugs at 23.”

The published version implies that I, myself, experienced an overdose which is not true. Please correct this as I don’t want people to get the idea that I was ever involved in drugs. Unfortunately, it was my brother who was and he lost his life.

I thank you in advance for correcting this mistake.
